I listened to this audiobook without reading Indigo Tears first. It was a quick enjoyable listen. This is a heartbreaking story about a woman who is a victim of a sadistic human trafficker, and her struggle to survive and ultimately escape. Many times during the journal, the character held back not wanting people to "get off" on her rape story. I respected this, but I felt it was inauthentic. It didn't read as a journal, perhaps an essay.

Recommendation: If you like gritty stories about human trafficking...

Audience: Millennials and up
