I have been an audible subscriber for at least 10 years strong now. September Audible launched Audible Originals, and Girls & Boys was on their list as a free download for subscribers.
First of all...I downloaded this book by accident. But it was one of the happiest accidents I've ever had. This audiobook was fantastic and Carey Mulligan truly outdid herself. She really performed this book as to merely reading it...making this more of an audio experience than an audiobook.
In 96 pages...Kelly gives you a portrait of a family and a social commentary about violence and masculinity. The writing is introspective, penetrating, and absolutely absorbing. Honestly...I really don't know what else I need to say to get you to read the book...but please...read it.
Recommendation: Required. This short book is a masterclass.
