What a beautiful book full of nostalgia. This is Ms. Woodson's highly anticipated first adult novel in 20 years, and I still think there are many young people that would enjoy this book.
August, an anthropologist, reminisces on her childhood - and how she moves from Sweetgrove, TN to Brooklyn in the 1970s, and the friends she bonds with. Woodson writes lyrically about the bonds that connect four young women and how they navigate the flirtations of boys....and men... and the wonder and danger lurking on every corner in Brooklyn.
Recommendation: Read it!
Audience: Millenials and Beyond....but the right teen would enjoy it.
